The Born Loser began in 1965 as a strip with no central characters that revolved around the loser theme. Gradually, it developed into the comic we see today, starring lovable loser Brutus Thornapple, his wife Gladys, mother-in-law Ramona Gargle, boss Rancid Veeblefester, dim-witted son Wilberforce and the mischievous neighbor Hurricane Hattie O'Hara.
Artist Chip Sansom began apprenticing for his father, Born Loser creator Art Sansom, in 1977. He became a full-time assistant, and gradually took on an ever-increasing role in the drawing and gag-writing duties until his father passed away in 1991.

I don’t perceive a problem. There could be several numbers that lead to that telephone. Lights on the phone might tell him which line is active, but not necessarily.

“Well if it’s a wrong number, why did you pick up?”

So true. 10 years ago I worked at AOL, there were literally 400 numbers that could ring my phone. There was no way of knowing what number the customer had dialed.

Or the caller could be phishing for information. I do not give out my information to unknown callers for any reason whatsoever.

Neo, Sneaky, even my call display does not catch every number. I simply ask them what number they THINK they dialled. That USUALLY gets them to admit they dialled wrong. (Side note: IF I dial a wrong number and get voicemail, I leave a message telling them this is a wrong number. I like to think people appreciate, and are amused by, these little admissions.)
