The Born Loser began in 1965 as a strip with no central characters that revolved around the loser theme. Gradually, it developed into the comic we see today, starring lovable loser Brutus Thornapple, his wife Gladys, mother-in-law Ramona Gargle, boss Rancid Veeblefester, dim-witted son Wilberforce and the mischievous neighbor Hurricane Hattie O'Hara.
Artist Chip Sansom began apprenticing for his father, Born Loser creator Art Sansom, in 1977. He became a full-time assistant, and gradually took on an ever-increasing role in the drawing and gag-writing duties until his father passed away in 1991.

Sorry, Gladys, clearly your idea of happiness and mine are worlds apart. You wouldn’t catch me anywhere near a mall on Black Friday :-P

But are you happy? Are you really happy?
I’m with you Slywlf – spending an hour hunting for a parking space, fighting with crowds, and standing in line for a couple of hours to pay – not my cup of tea.

I shop online. It’s so much easier and I don’t have to get dressed as if I’m going somewhere! :)

My “X” didn’t need a Black Friday as a reason to shop.
ANY day was a reason for her to shop!

Canad doesn’t have a Black Friday but sadly the stores are now competing for stampeding Americans. Having lost my job earlier TODAY, shopping is not on my radar.

Commercialism, capitalism, these are ism’s that have NOTHING to do with happiness. Money cannot buy happiness, it can only buy stuff. When people remember that money is just a tool to get what you need to live, like food, shelter, clothing, things to relax with, save for retirement, and that leftovers when you are done with that is wasted, not a score card, then the easier it will be for more people to live.

Especially for the stores, Gladys!

@DragonRydr
Communism, Socialism, Obama isms are other isms that HAVE nothing to do with happiness.
Money can’t buy you happiness, but it darn sure can buy the kinda misery I can live with. ;-)
So, why don’t take your high taxes and keep them out of my misery??? lol
And since money is just a tool, STOP borrowing my TOOLS, or at least return them in the same condition (i.e. amounts) in which you borrow them.

Big news (?) on TV in this area is that items in Black Friday sales actually sold forn less at sometime earlier in the year. Also — except for jewelety — the price will be the cheapest in the two-weeks before Christmas.
