Cass crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning. My cousin and I went to see her at the vet’s last night and she looked a bit better, but we got a call this morning that she was severely anemic, had stopped breathing briefly and they were about to give her a blood transfusion. We both decided, and the doctor agreed, that it was time. She was telling us it was. She was only 11 and had been born in our backyard. We still have her brother Timon and her brother from her mother’s next litter, Little Bear. It’s devastating, but we’ve made a decsion. One of the five kittens my cousin is fostering, a little calico girl named Cricket, has been a great comfort through everything. She will stay and become a member of the family.
