My sweet 23 year old Mama Kitty started her journey to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Love her so very much, trying to be happy she will be reunited with her kittens and other kitty and dog friends, but its really hard!

Yes, it’s really, really hard. But I always remember my first cat who I thought was so resilient. I still chastise myself for not realizing how much she was suffering. For making her go through the forcefeeding, the aggressive hydration etc. Thus I made her suffer even more. I’ll never so that again.

I am sorry, it is so hard sometimes to know when to let go. 10 days ago she was still trotting thru the house and eating well, then rather quickly declined. Even after an apparent stroke earlier in the week, she rallied for a day. In retrospect, it would have been kinder of me to put her down then.

My beloved LadyCat was lost for two weeks. My friend and I grieved. I found her and rejoiced. She’s not just a cat she ‘s part of one’s heart. What you are going through is very hard and hurts so much. Please accept my sympathies for the loss of your dear Mama Kitty. She was loved.

I am SO SORRY for what you are going through. I have been through that with my cats and dogs both. It never gets easier, and it hurts like hell! And yet, I keep adopting animals, knowing that one day, I will have to go through it all over again.

Sorry for your loss, Jesse. I’m sure your mamacat knew she was loved. She’ll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

You have my sympathy Jesse. It’s always so very hard to lose a family member. At the age of 70 I’ve lost so many of my furry family, all the way from newborn babies to the Matriarch, Sparky, who crossed the bridge just one week before her 20th birthday. I know when I arrive at the Rainbow Bridge I better have a Semi full of Purina Cat Food for my many boys and girls that have gone on before me.
