Nothing has changed, Bob leaves the door unlocked while he is on break, and that guy is always on break.

The US is being very careful. They are sharing SMS data from all over the world with GCHQ, but NOT US SMS data. So they’re taking every precaution to keep us safe. And the software has a switch to conceal the message contents, and both the NSA and GCHQ have been told to always use the switch to conceal the contents unless they are authorised by the courts (and the NSA already has a top secret court that has given them a global warrant to look at everything, so it’s all perfectly legal and proper under US law).

“… they are authorised by the courts (and the NSA already has a top secret court that has given them a global warrant to look at everything,”

Through 2012, there were 33,949, FISC warrants requested since the court’s inception. Only 11 requests were denied. It had might as well be a global warrant for real, not just satire.

“It is breathtaking to observe just how stupid the Kenyan thinks that some us are.”

It is not only Mr. Obama who thinks we’re that stupid. Most members of Congress and a Federal judge feel that the end (such as it may be) justifies any means. If it were only Mr. Obama, the program would be shut down. You may start your conspiracy theories now.

    And here’s one you’ll enjoy:

A Kenyan, a Muslim, and a Socialist walk into a bar, and he makes everyone get married to someone of the same sex, and forces them all to get an abortion.

I saw it on the internet. It must be true.

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that U.S. Customs has been granted the authority to confiscate electronics (cellphones, iPads, computers) at any airport or within 20 miles of the border(s) in the United States, without a warrant or without probable cause and keep them indefinitely if they “feel” something is amiss? The ACLU is appealing the decision, but isn’t this a mirror image of another government in a previous decade?

Most are uninformed in this country. They have better things to do than to follow the news. Of those that do most of them only follow local news. So to our leaders and Owners they would be called stupid.
