Nice words. They just don’t match his and the other Plutocrats’ agenda.

Thus inspired, Obama supporters everywhere also enjoy an untroubled night’s sleep. See how easy this is? Why are you people always complaining so much?

A TelePrompter joke? Has it come to that, Ted? You do know that the entire meme of “Obama needs a TelePrompter” ignores all the other presidents who have used one, because his critics can’t believe a black man can be articulate? And I thought you weren’t … oh, never mind. A person can be an idiot for other reasons than bigotry.

No, the joke was that Obama always needs a TelePromTer, even on occasions where other, lesser presidents would have just spoken extemporaneously. Even his own campaign admitted he had a problem. Are you saying that David Axelrod is a bigot?
But hey, way to jump to the, “Criticizing Obama for anything is racist!” conclusion.

I heard some rwnjs (who never studied anything as trivial as rhetoric) say Obama’s speeches are terrible turn-offs. But the speeches are magnificent. As were Reagan’s. As were Hitler’s, apparently, to judge from the way so many Germans cheered wildly, even German Jews who were overcome by the brilliant rhetoric and were sure Hitler couldn’t possibly be talking about them, since they were Germans.

But when Reagan said, ‘Tear down that wall,’ he wasn’t ordering one of his own built that would be harder to penetrate. When Roosevelt talked of the Four Freedoms, he was trying his best to promote them, not just talking about them.

When Obama says he will keep America safe without compromising any of its highest ideals, that sounds great. Only he used the Bush, jr definition of ‘torture’ (i.e., NOTHING done on orders of the US president can ever be called ‘torture’ under US administrative regulations, regulations approved by the Congress and the SCOTUS), so he can employ ‘enhanced interrogation’ at will. Obama uses Bush, jr’s rules of ‘proof’ and ‘evidence’ so he can jail or kill anyone, anywhere, for any reason or for no reason, and that’s still what he calls the ‘highest ideals’.

And Obama does use a teleprompter, just as Reagan used 3×5 cards. This is iterating a well-known fact, rather than making a racist statement.

But Obamabots, like rwnjs, know that lying and cheating are perfectly legal tools to use to win an argument. Anyone who criticises anything about the things Obama does is a racist.

Some who charge Obama with snooping thought it was absolutely necessary for Bush, jr to have all that information, he was looking over us as a father looks over his children when they sleep, and those who were not guilty had nothing to hide, but Obama having the exact same information is pruriently peeping in our bedrooms. Saying the exact same thing was OK when Bush, jr did it but an atrocity when Obama does it is either intensely partisan or racist (or, most likely, both).

But Rall criticised Bush, jr and Obama equally, and for doing the exact same things. Rall is attacking the act, not the person. And that’s NOT racist.

The TelePrompter is a side thing. The point of the cartoon is that Obama gives rousing speeches but never follows up with action. Say, a bill? That would be nice.

The first master practitioner of this was Bill Clinton. He would make a speech about education and the next day the media would be praising him for fixing the educational system. Nobody would remember the speech by the end of the week. Then he would make a speech about how horrible AIDS was. The next day Clinton would be praised for solving the AIDS crisis. Lather, rinse, repeat.

If Obama ever had a stack of 30-50 cards, picked out 20, shuffled them, then went on to make a speech. I would be impressed, that is what Reagan did.
And is this strip a little old for showing Obama 9 11 12?
