    Its the American Way!
    We’re really trying hard to remain 23rd in providing world class health care.

    @Tigger Whatever happens to politicians like LBJ, who actually read the legislation before they voted on it? Not to mention, those guys didn’t have the Internet to do the research for them. And they processed a lot fewer bills in the last session than they did back in the 1960s. These politicians are seriously lazy. It’s unbelievable that they all passed the USA Patriot Act, which turned the United States into an authoritarian state, without reading it. And then five years later, after the terrible results became evident, they renewed it!

    That’s just the handy wallet card…. The actual instructions come in a book thicker than a large print edition of War and Peace….

    Single Payer is easier, cheaper, less complex and will save money. maybe by the next millennium if the USA is still in shape to do it.

    @Debt Free

    You disbelieve the polls you don’t like.
    Anyway, my comment had nothing to do with polls, it was about world wide health care statistics.

    By far the best cartoon on Obamacare I’ve seen.

    The Obamabots say it will provide much better health care at much lower cost, and they have irrefutable proof that all the rwnjs refuse to accept.

    The rwnjs say it will bankrupt the US, paying for very expensive death panels, and they have irrefutable proof that the Obamabots refuse to accept.

    As Mr Rall points out, no one has a clue. Will it ultimately improve healthcare and painlessly cut costs by reducing inefficiencies? Will it cost a lot without doing anything to improve healthcare? And if it does cost more, who will pay? And if it does cost less, who will save? No one knows.

    Considering that Obamacare is really Romneycare, wouldn’t it be logical to see how it worked in Romney’s state? Answer: it worked beautifully…so remind me why it wouldn’t be good for the USA as a whole? Oh yeah… because it is “socialist”. Like every other Health Care System, including the ones in those obviously socialist countries like France, Britain and Canada. THEIR health care systems are working wonderfully, because THEY don’t have a Republican Party which is ready, on ’"principle" to sabotage ANYTHING the Obama Presidency tries to do… . A bunch of racist, hypocritical louts… ready to allow the entire country (including and especially the poor) to be completely destroyed as long as it destroys Obama too. There are words for such people, but none of them are printable in a newspaper.

    I wouldn’t be too sure about that answer. Costs are going up in MA and costs are being shifted away from insurers to participants. Night-Gaunt is right. As long as private insurers exist they’ll be a cancer. The only way for us to survive is to remove them.

    So a 2000 page plus unread law with all sorts of unknown and undefined provisions is causing trouble? Who knew? Oh, wait, the evil righwingers knew it was a terrible idea. Them and their darn “facts”. Rall’s reference to the Patriot Act is spot on. Warning: government may be dangerous to your health.

    Night Guant: Single Payer is easier, cheaper, less complex and will save money.

    Tigger: This is what the Republicans want to Replace ObamaCare with, but you are dead set against it.

    Me: Whaaaaaaat??? Tell me which Republican said they want Single Payer.

    @Tigger

    You also disbelieve polls you do not like.
    A USA Today Poll shows 53% of Americans disapprove of Obamacare in it’s current form.

    I believe the polls. Many of that 53% want Single Payer. More of those opposed want the ACA improved, than want it repealed.

    Republicans will not replace if they succeed in repeal. I don’t know of many Republicans who support national health care in any form.

    Not to mention, those guys didn’t have the Internet to do the research for them.

    I have a feeling that too many members of Congress do research on the Internet, where you can find something to support just about any crazy idea.

    The UN is taking your guns away, smoking is good for you & the Earth is at the center of the universe, at least according to the Internet.

    @Tigger

    From Night-gaunt49:
    -
    “Single Payer is easier, cheaper, less complex and will save money. maybe by the next millennium if the USA is still in shape to do it.”
    -
    Tiggers response:
    -
    “This is what the Republicans want to Replace ObamaCare with, but you are dead set against it.”
    -
    I’d be really interested in seeing this Republican position. I’ve not heard of it before. At all.

    Unless you are being dishonest. Again.

    Sorry, UJ, I didn’t see your response before I did a nearly identical one.

    Tigger is not known for his honesty. This is just another example.
