It’s not all better, but it’s better. Keep an eye out for the drones, though. They seem to make a habit of crashing weddings.

The Barry Fans in he media don’t want you to see all those “other things” that are actually inflicting real pain to most Americans. Just keep them in the background like this toon.

And the Republican plan to solve anything? More tax breaks for the wealthiest! It hasn’t worked for 12 years, but maybe if we give them even more…..

“It hasn’t worked for 12 years”

Change that to 30 years & I’m right with ya, Jase.

Wow them with circuses and gay marriage while the country goes down. Nothing to see here, move along. Every thing is going just fine (if you’re a Wall Street bankster).

What a buzzkill, Rall. One small ray of sunshine in the middle of all the b*llsh*t coming out of Washington. How about some more drone cartoons?

Virginia actually wrote an anti-Gay marriage law that meant the ONE PERSON in the country that you could NOT have a joint checking account, with or leave things to in your will was your same-sex partner!
They wrote it out stating that “No same-sex couples could enter into ANY legal agreements”.
It was later overturned, of course, but it was a classic example of the “Let’s use a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito” approach to legislation that is all too common today, in both Federal and State Government.
Sadly, way too many times Governments or Political parties use "Knee-jerk " items like Gay Marriage, or whatever as a smokescreen to hide real problems. They figure that most Americans have a form of A.D.D., so get their attention on some “Sparkly Thing”, and the real problems will go unnoticed!
It’s been going on for YEARS, and BOTH PARTIES are really good at it!

It solves their problems of not being legally married. Not that you have an inkling of it.

If the societal values evolve back the other direction, Will the new/old moral norms have the same validity in the future as the new ones have today? So reverting back that Heterosexual marriage will be just as constitutional as this new one is today?

Virginia also added an amendment to its constitution that specifically denied recognition of civil unions, marriages, or other alternatives for gay couples. If they move to Virginia, all your communal rights are automatically denied.

To my knowledge, this is the first time a constitutional amendment has been used to specifically REMOVE rights from citizens.

(Usually, they’re just incredibly stupid, like the one we added to say that “Hunting and Fishing are American Traditions”. Can’t wait to see which bumper sticker we will next want to add to the Constitution….)

The civil government has cared about AIDS. In 2005, “According to the FAIR Foundation, NIH research money budgeted per death is $162,790 for AIDS versus $10,245 for Alzheimer’s,” despite over 4.5 million Americans having Alzheimer’s compared to less than 400 thousand with AIDS. The discrepancy favoring aids research has increased since then despite Alzheimer’s increasing at a far faster rate than AIDS.

Alcohol just makes bad decisions, marijuana gives truly weird imaginings.
I ’spose both have their place, but neither is made for posting.

Heterosexual marriage is legal. Are you for separation of the “races” again too?
