   Hey Ted, obviously you have a real problem with drones. Bush used them and now O does too. Just like any military technique, as long as its eliminating threats and saving our troops lives, I have no problem with them. Should we ban them because mistakes have happened? How about banning tanks too?

   Kick him out on the street, dad. Let him try to get away with finding food in dumpsters. (In the USA garbage is the property of powerful politically connected trash collection companies and “stealing” from a garbage container can send you to prison)

   ConserveGov: many people have problem with drones. Drone attacks are not simply unethical, but also counter-productive. Drone attacks are making enemies faster than we can kill them.

   If some other country started routinely blowing people up in the US, you’d probably start violently hating that country. Look how crazy the US went after 9/11. Now imagine the reaction if there were a decade of continual attacks on the US instead of just one attack.

   Several of our local suburbs have been trying to eliminate trash picking. So far they have decided that if no one makes a mess it’s OK.

    And there you have the reason for the backlash against domestic use fo drones. Once we get civilian approval look out, google will have no impediment agaisnt knwing everything you do. 12 ft. privacy fence and your wife likes to sunbathe nude while you swim in your birthday suit, no privacy there, sorry it’s their constitutional right to know all, see all, archive and divulge all.

    Most people have no problem using drones for recon in certain military situations. But if you don’t see a huge issue with using them routinely for police reasons here at home, spying regularly on innocent civilians, I don’t know what will change your mind. Get ready for thousands of SWAT type raids justified by some some @#$%^&! at a drone screen who thinks he/she/it sees something suspicious. You will end up with a tank rolling thru your living room.

    A change in the national mood is allowing a police state mentality to develop. People no longer want freedom and accept indignities that would not have been tolerated a generation ago.

    Such as the Voting Rights Act? And what about some laws that have been eliminated? Such as laws against miscegenation? There are some new regulations which diminish the freedom of corporations to pollute the air and the water — but which increase the freedom of people in general to lead healthy lives. A lot depends on what you’re looking at.
