    A fuss about face plates when hockey players are allowed to commit felonies on the ice that would land anyone else in the pen? Really? Let’s see a few of them do hard time for crime and THEN start talking about face guards

    I played amateur hockey for almost 40 years. played against and with some retired NHL and minor league players. Started playing before helmets and faceplates and was glad when helmets came along. Kept some pretty serious injuries down.
    Fights are a part of hockey. I had fights against guys on the other team that I worked with every day, the next day, it was all over and we laughed about the fight. But then hockey is very different from other sports. You play on skates and try to hit a little puck with a stick while guys from the other side are crashing into you. It ain’t easy. But, damn, it is fun and exciting when you are playing.

    Then make them wear a full cage like in the minors.

    Personally, I’m against NannyBike, where too many bike fatalities are a result of people thinking they can ride like maniac and their helmet will protect them – probably the relatives of such people who are demanding mandatory helmets rather than accept the fool’s bad driving caused his passing.

    Same people who think everybody bikes fast on roads, when the majority of people bike leisurely on bike paths
