When was the last time you could get a Ford Fusion or a Toyota Camry with a rear-drive, V-8 configuration? Never. The last Chevy Impala with a V-8 was in 1996. Dodge returned to that configuration on the streets just a few years ago.
For you NASCAR, “buy American,” rednecks, here’s another point. Which car out of the 4 raced in NASCAR is actually built in the United States?
Chevy? No. Canada. Dodge? No. Canada. Ford? No. Mexico. Yes, it’s Toyota, which builds its Camry cars in Georgetown, Kentucky, which falls in the heart of redneck country.

They should run “The Great American Race” on I-495. Eight laps should take, oh, 4 days.

Dodge pulled out of NASCAR when they couldn’t compete with Toyota.

How many are driving while either talking or texting?
jgordy24 said, 3 months ago
All of them are talking, to their pit crew boss, the track side reporters, and even some fans for promo reasons….

They do have a (pickup) truck series, the SUV would be a good one. And hey, no dumping on NASCAR cars, they are real purpose built 900 HP racing machines.

At Daytona you have restrictor plates on the throttle body to reduce the horsepower to keep speeds down. It works, but leads to many cars running in a tight pack which leads to multi-car crashes like in Saturday’s race.
I say not only remove the restrictor plates, but cut the aero devices way back. This way drivers will have to brake before entering the high banked turns or wreck. This will also keep speeds down. It will also spread out the cars so it is less likely to have cars running in tight packs.
This is especially true when you have a large pack of cars coming to the checkered flag. So one will try to do something to gain just one more spot despite the risk.
It is better to have a single or two cars wreck than have 10 to 20 wreck at one time.

Yep, its true, “American made” cars are assembled elsewhar, and Toyota assembles Camrays in Georgetown, But I can assure you. The outskirts of Lexington is hardly the heart of redneck country.
BTW. The Corvette is assembled in Bowling Green Kentucky and I can Gar-on-tee that part of the Commonwealth is redder than Lexington… Too many Blue Bloods up thar.

A Dodge won it all last year.

Believe it or not, I did a Tank Sunday about restrictor plates back on Nov 18, 2012.

And I think the Designated Hitter rule is ridiculous. And all cars should have one passenger of the opposite sex, yelling directions.

You can’t tell from the drawing but the yelling passenger is happening in the minivan with the luggage carrier.

I think letting pitchers hit is ridiculous. It’s only being pushed by the beer companies so people will use this at bat to get another beer. How is it fair to have nine players in the field and only eight hitters and one out on offense?

The only true race cars are the Indy cars.
