Sports is Tank McNamara’s beat, his livelihood. A former professional football player who’s now a TV sportscaster, Tank McNamara reports on the breaking sports stories of the day: the hot players and angry coaches, the pending lawsuits and drawn-out strikes, the constant roar and ever-increasing hype that make organized sports one of the world’s most lucrative businesses.

Never let one woman rat you out to another, esp not if woman 1 is more loyal to woman 2 that you.

Mrs. Chance, what business is it of yours to begin with?

I didn’t even realize Tank had a girl. He retired from pro football back in the 1970s so he has to be around 70 years old now. Is he dating a grandma?

Tank has been with a lady from time to time, though I don’t think we have been introduced to her.

I think we have, but it’s been a long time since she’s been in the strip.

Tank is only 40 years old in cartoon years. Alas, that accounting doesn’t work for cartoonists. It gets really complicated for a character like Marmaduke whose strip has been running for 58 years. Do you work in the “cartoon years” equation before or after the “dog years” equation? Tank’s resume also fluctuates. Let’s call that cartoonist’s license.

When a week or even a month in comics can be one day in “real” time, it makes comic strip time equivalency a tricky subject
Best to just think of comics as an alternate universe where Biology, Physics, etc work on different principles

A face off between Angela and the Tattooed Lady seems inevitable and the result will no doubt be at poor Tank’s expense. Can’t wait for the fireworks !

Love it! As I remember Second Chances, it was largely about relationships and interpersonal stuff.

I remember Tank had a GF who was quite an athlete herself. Haven’t seen her in years. Must be a long time-out. Mrs. Chance needs to mind her own business.

Tell her to make the call; then you can deny, deny, deny.

Time for Angela and her kid to come back!

Time can be quite arbitrary in comics. “Blondie” and her family progressed in “real time” until the two children became teenagers. Then the strip froze in time.
Angela was a few years back. A good looking single mother, who outscored Tank in the NCAA basketball pool, basically on luck. As I remember, she picked teams by liking their uniforms.
