I remember when Clinton used the IRS as the gestapo also.

    @wolfhoundblues1

No definitive memory on this, but I think Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, and Johnson also misused the IRS. I hope memory is in error about Eisenhower and Kennedy.

Why aren’t they raising h@ll about the NSA’s big eyeglass, too? Don’t know how good they are at using theirs?

Unless this is just a part of the normal IRS auditing procedures (and I personally did not know that the Tea Party itself was even such a cohesive political entity that could even be audited in the first place!) where they audit any such organization, then president Obama is certainly correct. Glad to see that you as a relatively conservative poster can give him credit for even taking such a position, it increases your creditability by a whole lot (at least with me at any rate)!!

Standard Repuke disinformation. No apology was necessary. Or is someone going to tell me that the first thing that comes to mind with the term “tea party” is “social welfare organization”? What I want to know is how many of those organizations were determined to be claiming nontaxable status fraudulently.

The Tea Party “Sovereigns” advocate income tax avoidance by any means available, including deceit.

Then these same “Sovereigns” ask for tax exempt status?!

The IRS better look at them closely or the Republicans will have a fit and blame the IRS for adding to the deficits.

I caught the irony, the supreme court has been politicized for some time now. but true, they should both be Above party sqabbles.

they wanted tax exempt status for their anti-tax, anti-spending organization. not sure how the social welfare qualification applies to them.

“(BTW, I’ve decided to make a conscientious decision…”

I can’t tell whether you are being redundant, or simply repeating yourself!

Y’know I’m not going to apologize for the IRS or government abuse under any administration. We should have looked closer during Bush’s Regime and we should be looking at Obama’s Administration. And by look I mean with as impartial and bi-partisan and eye as possible. Stop fishing expeditions and witch hunts. It’s crying wolf and Congress is mystified that no one believes it’s an impartial investigation when they really need to look at something.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say about Churchill’s post, but:

    con·sci·en·tious (knsh-nshs)
    adj.
    1. Guided by or in accordance with the dictates of conscience; principled: a conscientious decision to speak out about injustice.

My observation was based on the thought thread stated concerning deciding to make a decision.

    A redundancy, IMO.

The Tea Party are a bunch of Koch brothers dupes and they are in the business of offloading taxes from the rich to the middle class. They have been successful in helping to make the USA the country with the most unequal wealth distribution of any developed country. As such they do not deserve any sort of tax break and should be investigated.
