    The debt ceiling is what has already been spent. Reagan raised it 17 without quibble. To go against it means we will be looked upon ans dead beats.

    The debt ceiling is no problem. The President can always invoke the 14th amendment and declare it unconstitutional (since section 4 says “the public debt…shall not be questioned”). And if that does not work (SCOTUS) he can always have a platinum $1.000.000.000.000 coin made and deposit it at the treasury. Yes, i know how stupid that sounds, but it’s legal, and if the GOP threatens to take down the whole world economy the President has to act…
