Joan: Have you decided what to do with Mom's room? Val: Not yet... Val: The girls would love to have their own rooms...but I'll need a guest room when Mom comes to visit... Joan: The girls could bunk together when Mom comes home. Val: I suppose. Alix & Holly: SHE SAID YES!!
And honestly, who in their right mind keeps her very different (in age and personality) and independent daughters (who each now want their own room and some privacy) cooped together in a single room, all for the sake of a guest room which will be in use only a few weeks a year? Guest rooms make sense when there is a room to spare and it maybe can double as a hobby/craft/sewing room. But the girls actually live in that house, the guest does not.
