The same way you’ll do it when you grow up: fake it!

I can’t believe it now, but when I was a teenager my parents used to let me take their credit cards and go shopping. I was too nervous to buy too much and I never really was into the latest trends, but it worked out well. Not sure I’d trust Holly though…

You can ‘pick up’ whatever you want
What we ‘buy’ is another matter…

I gave my daughter money and let her do her own shopping. She learned to look for sales and weigh her purchases. Much easier!

That wouldn’’t work on Holly though. lol She would buy inappropriate things I’m sure.

I was insecure because of my mother hating me and for being ostracized by my family so I lusted after the finest designer threads. My clothes were characterized as a desperate pathology and my sisters stole them. I was hoping the fancy clothes would change other people’s opinions of me. But when I opened my mouth the atrocious grammar and defensive stand would turn people off. Clothes don’t matter much to anyone now that the latest in electronics are what is important.

My mom did that too. But I had to show her everything and what she didn’t like, I either had to pay for out of my own money, or return. I chose to return vs using my own money!

Exactly. Even on a budget Holly would try to dress like she’s 23 even though she’s 13.

Tell her she loses all privileges and will have to work like a single mother till she graduates. This girl has had it way too easy.

I never got my parents’ credit card shopping. I got to take my babysitting money and the money I earned being an activity aide at a nursing home, but that would have been in high school. I just went shopping with my parents, when I was younger.
