Same difference! Val sounds like my mother, if I heard that phrase once I heard it ten thousand times.

{eye roll} People these days! They seem to think talking vocally is out and talking digitally (text, instant message, e-mail, etc.) is in!

my grandsons have both a Iphone and an ITouch, they NEVER EVER talk on the phone but they text on the ITouch all the time. If I want to talk to them I don’t call I just text. Sad, I would bet there are days when they never ever use their voice.

Holly, dear; if you wouldn’t want to read it about yourself on the top half of the front page of the New York Times. DON’T text it about someone else. Too late, you say? Well, you can always hire Amanda Bynes or Paulina Gretzky as your media adviser…

Actually, restaurants are so noisy (and play such Gawd-awful music) that I will sometimes text the person at the other end of the table, simply because a conversation is impossible.

I don’t know when bars and nightclubs started playing music so loud that it was deafening, and you had to shout and scream to the person next to you. But I wish and hope that all that will blow up and crash one day, and then those places can be actually enjoyable again.

Yes, it’s your words being recorded without saying it. Simply put, it’s your mind literally being read.

I don’t understand this. This isn’t even a problem. This can be solved simply enough by a sincere apology to the offended girl and then stay out of her way in the future. The apology will teach her humility. Holly should be preparing for a future in competitive economy by studying hard anyway. But what the heck do you do if your own mother hates you and there’s no way to satisfy her? What are you supposed to do if you don’t have the chance at an education because you’re out of the house, wandering the streets? Then the school puts you in inferior classes because they know the parents don’t care? What do you do then? It’s such a weird situation that people just look the other way, and the mother gets emboldened and her behavior gets worse. And because it’s the mother, no one cares what is fair or not. You have to just take the abuse. Move out you say? Not if she doesn’t allow it.
