The things I really regret are the things I didn’t do.

My guess the next victims of Holly will be Joan and Wally. (What is she cooking up anyway?)

Tell them what they SHOULD know, not what they WANT to know…

And while you’re at it give Evie a dose of truth serum also. Because everyone did something they really regretted, even though for some people those things may be more benign than for others.

oh, yeah, come on, be honest – we all have regrets unless we are pure ego… let’s give instructions on how to resolve things, okay? (this is a funny, scary buildup tho)

She could be just asking. My dad presented himself as a simple, innocent, nose to the grindstone, hard-working factory worker in his youth – wanting me to do the same. It was the same boring stories, over and over. No depth to them. Turns out his factory days were few, that’s why the stories were so shallow. He was actually doing some very fancy stuff, let me tell you! But he didn’t want me to know any of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if Val had some experiences in her youth that would be an interesting contrast to her current life.

We had a minister once who wanted to be a perfect example for his son. He never let his son see him mess up, then pick himself up and do better. (Or at least he tried to present this kind of image.) The minister also wanted his family to look perfect in the eyes of the congregation. I heard that the son had wrecked his new car while off somewhere, and the father bought another one just like it so that no one would find out. I don’t think the young man turned out too well.
