Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Apparently, Max sees the “right back at you” coming. Oh, this’ll be a fun mother-daughters bonding.

I finally figured out what bothers me about the littlest kids in this strip. They’re abnormally silent! Not even a “Waaah” or a babble.

LOL!!!! Looks like me and my kids when they think they’re being sneaky and throwing their dirty clothes at me. I usually catch them before they get to me, and send them right back so they get a good whiff of them. Ha, their “old lady” isn’t so slow after all!

@lisapaloma13
What, you want them to be as mouthy as Holly? :)
They do have lines occasionally when it’s their turn, but they aren’t allowed to distract from the plots.
