Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Planty Allen?

I seriously doubt that Tom would want Val to go through the rest of her life lonely. I also suspect he would want the girls to have a father in his absence. Val needs to reconcile these things and come to a conclusion however difficult it may be to the memory of Tom.

Wow…if you look at Joan from the past you wouldn’t believe she could be so wise and astute.

Joan, you’ve crossed the line. Woody Allen is creepy.

Wish I could walk out the door and have a sister at the fence to talk to about things! Val is one lucky woman to have Phil’s love and her family.

I smell a ‘Dream Sequence’ coming on, with Val getting to talk to her deceased husband about Phil and he tells her its OK.

I thought it was the commitment thing. Remembering someone you loved deeply is not wrong.
