Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Yeah, I just read that one not to long ago. And how the phytoplankton is disappearing faster than they should be…
rayannina said, 11 months ago
But the liberal media never reports on it! Oh, wait … sorry, that should’ve gone on the Doonesbury page. My bad.

@rayannina
The cartoon today is about science, not politics. Nor is it journalism 101. Please take you intolerance elsewhere.

Interesting…

If I read it correctly, Rayannina was joking, only pretending to be political, but then feining that he was in the wrong place.

Grandma, I did not know that either!

Lets clear the air! Oxygen makes up only a minor part of the air we breath. Obviously phytoplankton just makes the oxygen, not the air.
j gray said, 11 months ago
i thought it was 2/3 of the oxygen. who knew..
oh yeah. Alix did
Gil said, 11 months ago
Oh yeah, what about all those leaves that inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen?

Hmm, everyone knows that “scientific” “facts” are just liberal propaganda intended to oppress the free market!

And they measured that… How??

I knew, as it was the plot point of a SF book I read when I was in middle school, “Children of Morrow.” Scared the bleep out of me.

I’m just glad Alix is excited about science camp.

I love Grandma’s enthusiasm when she talks to Alix. All kids should have someone in their lives who listens to them so wonderfully.
