Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Ok enough politics, already :-( I read comics to get away from the serious stuff, not to have it thrown in my face as entertainment…sigh.

Realistic, isn’t it? Be more careful at the voting booth.

I assume we don’t see you over at Doonesbury or Candorville.

Stupid idiots 86ed the Buffett rule. Do we need to have everyone in congress open their wallets and dump the money on the table to understand that we need to work on this debt crisis?

And that will close the deficit how? Tax them the way they were taxed in Ike’s administration.

Totally agree! Is Jan trying to PO and alienate some of her readers? This is the way to do it. Politics pulls us apart and humor brings us together. No more politics, Jan. Make us laugh again.

Well, if the politicians—especially the Conservatives and the Republicans—weren’t horning in on the comedy routines, then the cartoonists wouldn’t have to get serious!

Where can I go for some rebuttal ‘comic’?

Actually, I’m wary of (not opposed to) universal health care because I don’t trust what the government would come up with and how they would run it. I trust them with other things, just not to run a good health care program that would have health as its priority. There has to be a better answer because having the insurance companies run things isn’t working either.

This used to be one of my favorite FUN comics. Please get OUT OF POLITICS….. All you are accomplishing is to loose readers, not change any minds!!!

As all the sane people have been saying, we can’t close it by just taxing the wealthy… The Buffett Rule is a symbolic gesture… It’s a good symbolic gesture to start restoring some balance, but to close the gap we’ll need cuts and revenue increases.
My biggest disappointment with Obama is that he hasn’t done more to push Simpson/Bowles or something like it.

You need to be able to laugh at politics!
This strip touches only very lightly on politics.
