@skulker, while in principle I agree (recently watched a very interesting and chilling documentary about that very topic), I don’t think that teaching Alix that animals belong in their natural habitat and that it is cruel to let them suffer a drawn out death in a jar in her closet is not stifling her curiosity and need for learning.
