Val: Here's my flex-time proposal. I'll be in two hours early, take a short lunch, and leave at 2:30. I put in a full day and still get extra time with my kids this summer. Mr. Mabey: No can do. Val: Why no? I work independently already and the early mornings are productive because the phone don't ring. Mr. Mabey: What if we need you after 2:30? Val: Let's see. I ahve a fax, a moedm, and hey! What's this? I ahve one of these! Mr. Mabey: Put my phone down. Val: And what about this pager you make me wear? What does it do?
Fax? Pager? I just noticed, I’ve lived almost as long since those became passé as I did before they were common.
