You REALLY think the Republicans have allowed debate on a budget? Haha!

This is about the gun control bill.

    Thank God for Gridlock!

    Bipartisanship gets us stuff like
    - Patriot Act
    - TSA
    - Iraq Invasion
    - TARP bailouts.

Interesting to note that all those boondoggles were initiated by Republicans. I suppose this is the major reason we should dislike democrats: because they allowed bipartisanship to trump what would have been better for the country.

And maybe we should admire republicans because they are unwilling to cooperate in the slightest. This keeps bad bills from becoming law.

Unfortunately, it keeps anything important from becoming law, as well.

If the best we can hope for is gridlock, it is——once again——-time to throw the bums out.

While you are correct in the subject of the cartoon, you are wrong on the debate issue.

The president finally presented his budget plan (2 months late) so as per the law, the senate and the house can now examine and debate and offer changes to it. They are in that process now.

The gun bill was to be filibustered but had the necessary votes (63) to bring the bill to the floor for debate and amendments. IF it passes after that process then the house will do it’s thing.

The GOP “budget” is missing any of the numbers and tax details that would make it possible to discuss. It’s not a budget. It’s an amateur Ayn Rand fan fic.

Clark Kent: It’s called “recoil” actually, but your raise the point that it is “kickbacks” to Congresspersons from the arms and “defense” industries that keep many, mostly, but not all, on the "right’ side of House and Senate in their seats, and make them millionaires, lobbyists, or board members when they leave office. (part of the “post-service” kickback)

Ask the Cheneys. (Hint: Lynne was on the board at Lockheed for quite a while.)

Ansonia: you need a few lessons on “stock options” and other “perks” board members receive, along with “Insider” information on “investing”. (Not merely in the “parent” corporation either.)
