I may not have always agreed with his reviews, but “At The Movies” was always fun to watch!
I bet Gene and Roger are now doing Reviews together again!
“That Sunset was a great balance of plot, and proper use of Color! It earns 2 Thumbs Up!”
    R.I.P Roger.

Farewell to the man who gave us the immortal words, “I hate, hate, HATED this movie!”

One thing I always respected – after they reviewed a movie I may not have agreed with their opinion, but I knew if I would enjoy the movie. Which in the truest sense is the purpose of a review.

Siskel and Ebert were as all movie reviewers should be. They were honest about whether or not they personally liked the movie, and were able to analyze it for their audience without giving too much away. Regardless of their opinion, you still got a good idea if you would like that movie.

RIP, Mr Ebert. You and your reviews will be missed.

I’d thwap you on the head for that inconsiderate remark.

Yes, they have died, but that doesn’t mean that you show disrespect towards the Dead —esp. a man who was respected as those two men were. You and I may be out of the “popular stream” of Religion, but that doesn’t mean that we have the right to disrespect those who have departed this World.

Mr. Ebert was an atheist, so instead of honoring him, the cartooning is insulting him.

In a pig’s eye…let us all go around with tape on our mouths & blinders on our eyes & not say a word for or against that in which we inherently know is right. Great cartoon, Mr. Benson.

It was the tone of the statement that I objected to. My point was that no matter what one’s religion is, everyone deals with Death and Grief in their own way.
    .
While you were stating a scientific fact, it’s the situation when you said this fact that offends me.
    .
    Besides… consider yourself special. I don’t thwap just anyone’s head, y’know.

You’re not that far off – he described himself as a “secular humanist”.
