When Bush was President, Liberals said Sequestration was needed, now it’s taboo

If this cowardly miscreant we have in our White House lacks the foresight and courage to make the deep cuts needed to save our economy from the same fate socialist European countries are now facing, then let the sequestration begin! And don’t for one moment let this lying POS tell you that it’s all the GOP’s fault; Obama was the one who first proposed sequestration, the Democratic controlled Senate passed it, and Obama signed it!

Well, for an OPINION piece it has it’s merits. However, it is only her OPINION.
Note the following excepts:
“First, the Obama administration came up with the mechanism”
Yes, this is not the full quote. But it is a statement of fact that yes it’s Obama’s idea.
The rest of the quote?
" precisely because Republicans deemed unacceptable a sequester that included automatic increases in tax revenue."
Yep, that is true. And we all know that the problem of the debt and deficit spending can not be fixed without more revenue. (most of us conservatives know that)
Ruth goes on to say: "the threat of sequester was to be leverage for a blend of spending cuts and tax increases. "
So what happened?
She goes on: “Second, no matter whose brainchild it was, Republicans voted for a deal that included the sequester as the enforcement mechanism.”
So it is still her opinion that it is Obama’s brainchild.
Well, everyone could benefit from this article. It has a good explanation of why we are where we are.and we should call our reps and agree that this is a good move.
She says: " In the administration’s imagining, this money was just chapter one; the second wave would come with another $600 billion or so through tax reform."
Yep, tax reform….ummmm good.
Hey guys, you are hating on the wrong group of republicans. You need to switch from the TEA party to the Establishment. The TEA party would reform the hell out of the tax code.

Last time I checked, the Tea Party reps are the ones most adamantly against any more revenue. Any Tea Party tax “reform” will lower revenue even more, making deficit reduction that much harder.
Rand Paul has said the sequester, “will be a yawn.” Most of the Tea Party seem willing to let the sequester happen, rather than negotiate.

Funny how the budget had a surplus when Clinton left office. Then the Repubs got ahold of it and played the 2 Santa Clauses with tax cuts and spending during the bush years. Now they expect Obama to cure everything. Where was all this outrage during the Bush years while he was doubling our debt.

The barber should be Obama. The sequester was his idea. Moreover, he said he would veto any bill that would mitigate it.
Obama made a speech surrounded by cops, firemen, EMTs, claiming they’d lose their jobs if the squrester happens. Those are local government employees whose salaries are paid from local taxes – not federal. The sequester has zero to do with them.
