Even a wooden nickel would float, but they sank that a long time ago, weighted down by wars. (and tax breaks) Now it’s the conundrum of the con-dumbs.

unemployment % has dropped because a bunch of person who are not employed has been stopped being counted - the under employed % is still same — check the food stamp numbers

Never bet against the American Business – it is growing, however anemically, in-spite of 0bama’s anti-capitalism efforts.

We will all agree that every one must be responsible for their own actions in order to maintain a civil society. Subsequently our tens of thousands of new “people”, people that we know better as “corporations”, must also be beld accountable for their actions (something that wasnot taking place under the Cheney-Bush Administration). That is not anti-capitalism; what it is is fairness and justice for all as it is so adjudicated through our civil and criminal laws within the American Civil and Criminal Justice System.

Yes, and under all republican presidents, they counted it the same way which makes your argument false. Unemployment is down with President Barrack Obama reversing the trend that the shrubster and crew started.

The only thing I see going up today is gas prices. The only way they got the unemployment numbers to go down is to take people off of the unemployment rolls. They are still out there and still unemployed.

The way the unemployment figures are calculated has not changed. People not looking for work have never been counted—if they did the unemployment rate 50 years ago would have been double because most wives didnt work.

I keep hearing about the improving economy. I wonder what that looks like. Where is the economy getting better? Am I going to have to move to a red state?

Joseph: you DO mean those “red states” that take far more back from the federal government than they pay in taxes? Even the ones that do theoretically take less in “direct aid” DO get more through contracting to federal sources, like “no taxes” Texas.

Is anybody in jail – found guilty of your rant . . . .?
    .
Millions of GM bond-holders (GM’s bonds were denominated as low as $25/per) and Chrysler’s secured debt holders were forced to take major haircuts from their after-tax investments, while the unions, who were in large part responsible for the companies’ demise were richly rewarded . . . . . in a direct violation of centuries-old contract and bankruptcy principles and laws . . . .

We can be sure of one thing. Whoever invented the phrase “A rising tide lifts all boats” undoubtedly owned a boat.
