@Harlan: LOL. Yeah. Let’s see. The US – while at “war” (term used very loosely) with a “concept” killed an American born (new mexico) man that – according to the NYT, “had been perhaps the most prominent English-speaking advocate of violent jihad against the United States, with his message carried extensively over the Internet. His online lectures and sermons had been linked to more than a dozen terrorist investigations in the United States, Britain and Canada. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan had exchanged e-mails with Mr. Awlaki before the deadly shooting rampage on Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. Faisal Shahzad, who tried to set off a car bomb in Times Square in May, 2010, cited Mr. Awlaki as an inspiration.” This man fit the description of “traitor” very well and while I may not agree with the action it was well within the authority the constitution gives the President of the US.

Iran – allegedly – hired a Mexican Drug Cartel to kill an ambassador to the US from Saudi Arabia on American soil. Why we are such “friends” with the Saudi’s is a mystery to me BUT we do have good relations (for the oil I guess) and want to maintain them. So if that had happened it may have put a strain on the relationship. How does that equate to carrying out a military mission unless – of course – you are willing to admit that Iran is at war with the US and it’s allies.
The few allies we have left.

Old French Proverb: The more things change the more they are the same. The only thing that George Orwell got wrong in his 1949 book “1984” is that his vision of the future, as projected in “1984,” was already in place and happening; and continues to this day.

We haven’t assassinated any Iranians in a long time.
But, we have plenty of Hellfire missiles if they want in on the fun.

If we are at war who started it? What is it that we as America want to accomplish with the war? We as America only want two things. A peaceful Israel and oil. We do not want land. We do not seek death and blood. We seek to defend our self in the pursuit of those two things. That is why we use hellfires. And why should we not do it from a safe distance? That is our goal in keeping that area safe? If you did not “seek” us out we would not fire. We have had and still do in many places have a peaceful transactions for the oil. If you would let Israel be then that area would be peaceful too.

You should thank Allah you have oil to sell us. There’s no market for sand. And you certainly can’t grow wheat.

" You wish our oil, through theft or through violence. "
Is that why Sadie Arabia has become rich? we stole the oil with violence?
And just who are “your people” well you have told us it is the ones who want to “pay us back in kind” for a war that was not started by the USA. So it seems to me that yes I am allowed to defend myself from someone who is going to kill me. The USA as I stated only wants Peace for Israel and the oil. We are not trying to pay anyone back. We are paying for the oil.
Does your Muslim religion allow for revenge? As A Christian I am taught to turn the other cheek. I am allowed to defend myself and value my life over someone who is trying to kill me. But to go out to kill just to kill is not in the Christian teaching. I have read in a few places that it is in your religion. Is that true?
And why will there not be peace if we are in “your land” where do you draw the line? Can we buy your oil?
