He ought to have said he was afraid of snakes on a plane.

Liberals can profile members of the Tea Party, but conservatives cannot have subjective fears of Muslim extremists who are waging a holy war against our country. No double standard there!

^When have we profiled members of the tea party? That’s a new one on me?

Ah, this is the best cartoon yet on this dustup. Others mischaracterize it as liberal vs conservative. I see it as journalist vs commentator. Now, Williams gets respect only for prostituting himself at very high rates.

^^^ “—Muslim extremists who are waging a holy war against our country.”

There are more American “terrorists” in their countries than there are Muslim “terrorists” in America.

Ever think they just might want foreign meddlers out of their countries?

Let’s see simon, let’s start with tea party member are all racist. Let’s move on to the “hayseed, rube, redneck” labels. You can add the KKK, white supremacists tags and finish up with the religious nut job extremists or just plain crazy accusations.

All things that this “tolerant” liberal group has said about the conservative (notice I did not say republican) majority in this country. Sounds like profiling to me………. ;0))

The lady in Kentucky whose head was stomped by tea partiers, was she profiling Rand Paul? No wonder they attacked her.

If Benson and his sycophants want to characterize Fox News, it’s viewers (who outnumber the comptetition combined) and Juan Williams (!) as extremist, I say go for it.

When the smoke clears in a week, they won’t know what hit them.

If what Williams stated as his honest emotional response constitutes extremism and mental imbalance, then I suppose a good 80% of America needs to be on psychotropic medications. Sorry to break it to you, sweet simple-minded insular little NPR, but very outwardly Islamic individuals DO give everyone a second take in crowded areas! You are an absolute LIAR if you see an outwardly Islamic individual (or groups) in an airport and don’t immediately do a double-take to consider whether that person could be a threat! If you honestly do not at least consider the notion, then you do not take anything seriously in life until it personally affects you.

Juan Williams was fired for breaching his contract and saying that he’s scared of Muslims on planes on a TV interview during his personal time. This angered Fox News and has caused them to get in an uproar about free speech.

Lt. Dan Choi was fired for breaching his contract and saying two words: “I’m gay” on a TV interview during his personal time. Fox News cheers this on and is in full support of continuing to do so.

At least there are some liberals upset with the handling of the Williams firing. Any Conservatives want to lend some anger to the Choi firing? Didn’t think so.

“You are an absolute LIAR if you see an outwardly Islamic individual (or groups) in an airport and don’t immediately do a double-take to consider whether that person could be a threat!”

    • I don’t. And I see outwardly Muslim people all of the time. In this country, people who dress in the garb of their faith from other countries have been less a threat to people like me than home-grown “followers of Republican gay-bashing. Statistics support this. I still don’t eye white person I see and assume they’re a dangerous anti-gay white supremest. Maybe you should relax a little.

Nina Totenberg of NPR said she hoped Jess Helms or his grandchildren got AIDs. That was not a fireable offense according to NPR standards..

Habanero - By your own words, you label yourself as the same kind of bigot who distrusts blacks for the color of their skin, Japanese for the slant of their eyes, Hindus for their red ‘God’s eye’ dot, Seihks for their turbans, Irish for their red hair and freckles, Scandinavians for their blond hair and blue eyes (oops, sorry. I forgot Aryans are ok.)

Stop being afraid of anyone who looks a little bit different from you. Instead of passing judgement on people who dress diferently, why don’t you go and strike up a conversation and learn a bit about their culture? Celebrate Diversity.

Comparing the number of Americans killed by “Muslim terrorists” to the number of Muslim children killed by “shock and awe” might make those terrorized by Faux (and Bush administration) propaganda, think twice? Then add up the number of civilian adults killed. Then consider that we’ve been bombing Iraq since 1991, and consider what is our “longest war in history”. The damage done by Fox was not putting Williams on to make his statement, but their drumbeat to war against anyone opposed to their nationalism. Gee, where DID Murdoch come from?
