….never thought of that. that IS a pretty big cape for Clark Kent to hide in his business suit….maybe it is some Krypton-developed futuristic material that can be wadded into a tiny ball and then be deployed on command……….wait a sec, why does Superman even NEED a cape? what the heck is cape supposed to do?

I’ll refer you to The Incredibles. An odd style choice that was a mistake.

Both his suit an uniform were of a special material he could compress. When as Superman he put his clothes, an shoes, into the cape pocket an compressed his super suit into a special container as Clark Kent.

If I remember correctly from the comics, Superman was able to compress his cape with his superstrength so it wouldn’t show under his clothes. Then when he changed he’d decompress it with a super-speed snap of his wrist.
