    dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers, their size/shape made them great for going down the burrow.

    They were sent down in groups, as one Dachsie would soon be dealt with by one Badger. That was in Germany, and the badgers being hunted were Euopean Badgers, Meles Meles, while here, we have the less friendly American Badger, Taxedea Taxus. Who loads his Colt Government Model, and turns the porch light on for the wiener dawg.
