   Back in the 80’s I had a Franklins stove, and Tyrone, my little orange tomcat would actually sleep under it.

   one of my cats burned her whiskers off once trying to sniff a fire….it was a candle, but I i was amazed she got so close to it before realizing it was hot. (she was unhurt, thankfully, but shaken)

   My cats lay really close to the fireplace when we have it going and stay for hours. I’m surprised after time they don’t get terribly hot and move further away.
