I just checked a list of aviation firsts in Wikipedia, and it says that the first transpacific flight between California and Australia was May 31 – June 9 in 1928, in the “Southern Cross”. This strip came out in 1928,from what I can read, but I don’t see the date. That may be what Skippy is referring to.
It also says the first non-stop flight across the Pacific was in 1931, from Japan to Washington state by Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon.
