GoComics is delighted to re-introduce "Skippy." The legendary comic created by Percy Crosby debuted in 1923 and ran in newspapers until 1945.
Hailed by critics, fellow cartoonists and readers as a "classic," it's easy to see how "Skippy" inspired comics like "Peanuts" and "Calvin and Hobbes." We hope you enjoy this glimpse back in time with one of the most-beloved characters of the mid-20th Century.

That sounds like the kind of exciting plays Todd Haley called for the Pittsburgh Steelers, leading them to a dismal 8-8.

Corey Ford was a writer of humorous books in the 30’s and later. I assume Skippy means he hopes his wisecracks will feed him “pay his board” as in room and board. Maybe Corey Ford was a pal of the cartoonist.

Corey Ford wrote “Three rousing cheers for the Rollo boys” back in 1925. I used to really enjoy his articles in “The Lower Forty Hunting, Shooting and Inside Straight Club” in Field and Stream magazine in much later years. First thing I’d read when the new issue came.
