coexist? With isis? Not possible, unless you bend to their doctrine therefore becoming one of them. The very principles of their actions and beliefs are that coexisting is not only impossible, it is a sin and an offense.

ISIS is a group of extremists. If you’re going to judge Islam based on it’s extremists, judge Christianity on its.

The beheadings are a horrible thing.

But consider how many innocent people have been killed just by being born in the Middle East. Bush called this a “crusade” and gun sights used by US soldiers contained New Testament Bible verses.
    -
Before Christians condemn an entire religion because of zealots, they need to look at the zealots in their own group.

I do not see an equivalence between the President using the word “crusade” (a term with a well-understood figurative meaning) in connection with a long-term ideological struggle against terrorism and ISIS’s outright purpose of eradicating other religions. Nor is there any equivalency between American soldiers using rifle sights which, unbeknownst to them and contrary to US policy, contain a cryptic reference to peaceful and uplifting Bible passages, and ISIS militants committing massacres to increase their particular political and religious power.

The beheadings are a horrible thing. No qualification is necessary or appropriate.

Islam is a peaceful religion. Bush told us that repeatedly.

And Bush was never wrong about anything. Anything.

Crusade, what the US has been doing in the Middle East for some time. Nothing “figurative” about it.

Islam is as peaceful as Judaism and Christianity. Or not since all three have shown violence above and beyond merely for survival.

I know. It’s a disingenuous load of crap to judge one group based on it’s worst while ignoring the worst in our own group.

No one is arguing that. It’s not the point. Why is an entire religion being judged by extremists? Some guys in Alabama beat their wives. Should we then judge ALL of Alabama based on those few? A few people in Kansas celebrate the death of US soldiers and protest their funerals. Are we to judge ALL of Kansas based on those vocal few?

And sanitizing makes it right? If.. there were closeup images of a drone attack with bits of children and women parts flying through the air would you all cheer.. high fives all around.. It should sicken you like the beheadings do.. but sadly probably not.
