It started a few thousand years ago when the folks in Canaan, and other parts of what became “Palestine” got invaded by a particularly violent tribe that entered the territory, claiming “god” told them to kill everyone who stood in their way. It isn’t any prejudice, just a statement of historical fact. Abraham might have headed it off at the pass by sacrificing BOTH his sons??? (Not that like so many characters from the mythology, he ever even existed.)

It is kind of hard to imagine peace when one side repeatedly vows to wipe the other off the face of the earth.

That would be the one side who can’t. The Palestinians are not recognized, hemmed in on all sides like a reservation or bantustan. Their keeper has nuclear weapons and other lesser, but still superior weapons.

Michael wme: Try reading the Bible before referring to it. David hit just below the helmet. In case that was not fatal, Goliath was beheaded with his own sword.
There is a river just 15 miles north of here that runs red all the time – assuming it is running at all. Indeed, it is even called the Red River. Legend tends to change history.

Kerry’s whole career has been to be on the wrong side of everything.

Hmm, just another note: the sling, was in it’s day, equivalent to a pistol or lower caliber rifle, effective at a distance beyond the reach of a sword, or even a spear, in skilled hands.

The sad part is that as back then, we rely more on the primitive solution of the sword, rather than peace.
