Synchronized ski-jump. Maybe add some degree of difficulty by arranging a shooting competition during the jump. We need to turn this into a positive….

The rocket-propelled skeet shooting should be interesting.
But seriously folks, I know it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity but I wouldn’t want that to be my kids last.

A new Biathlon event? I must admit that I really was unaware of winter olympic events since I initially lived in 2 countries that rarely sent athletes to them and therefore rarely covered them in their news; but it really surprised me when I discovered the Biathlon. So your suggestion wouldn’t be considered far-fetched

Russia has put more than 100,000 security personnel to guard the Sochi Olympics.

Since when was there a ski jump in the biathlon?

It’s nice that we NEVER have security if the Olympics are held here. (See Atlanta)

    Rio should be fun, too.

We had a local biathlon competitor in the Olympics a few back, and interesting event, maybe relative to javelin in the Summer games??

Which, as my brother was killed in an accident after being selected for the Olympic team, he didn’t make it there, but as a track, cross country, and skiing competitor myself, have always followed both summer and Winter Olympics.

It IS about the athletes folks, not just the nationalism. They REPRESENT their nations, but they are individuals (even in team sports), and not their nations, and certainly not representative of too many of those nation’s “citizens” who vicariously see themselves as the “winners”. (and heaven help any “losers”. It IS the Olympics and nobody there is a “loser”!)

Time to admit that our “ally” Saudi Arabia is the problem.
