No taxes, no regulations, and to make a living you take hostages, a redumblican paradise.

And what part of Obamacare is not a take over of healthcare do you not understand? It is regulation of the insurance industry, which forces them to spend premiums on healthcare instead of profit and to cover everyone, and guess what? It’s a conservative, Heritage Foundation creation! What part of conservative victory don’t you understand? We wanted universal single payer.

I’ve said this before, so I won’t go into details, but my family had to deal with my father’s catastrophic illness when he was not yet forty years old; fortunately we had super-dooper insurance and we didn’t pay a cent, even though my father was in the hospital for nine months. If we had had to pay we would have been bankrupt. Everyone should have health insurance. The government should make it easy for everyone to have health insurance. There are various systems out there; I’m most familiar with the Canadian single-payer system, and generally it works well, but there are other systems worth investigating. I don’t understand why the US can’t do something that every other industrialized nation can do.
Moreover, health costs in general are lower when people don’t have to depend on emergency care, but instead get regular check-ups and care before things get serious. It’s not fair that poor people don’t get regular care, and it’s also more expensive for everyone when poor people don’t get regular care.
I believe in lots of liberty for individuals, and I believe that one of the functions of government is to help people get the tools they need to exercise their liberty. Sick people can’t exercise their liberties. When the government helps people get the health care they need, the government is increasing their ability to exercise their liberty.

No, clearly you don’t understand the use of the filibuster plus the change to the House rules under Resolution 368 Section 2, which bars anyone but Republican leadership from bringing a clean continuing resolution to the floor. It’s essentially a coup on the part of a small group of Tea Party Republicans to subvert democracy. It’s the law of the land and you don’t get to trash America just because your side lost fair and square.

A democracy must accept the results of Elections and Legislation enacted after a successful election campaign. President Obama won election and re-election on national health care. Yet Speaker Boehner is allowing 30-60 Republicans to prevent a floor vote in the House that would pass funding and raise the debt ceiling. We’re not talking democracy just now, people. We’re talking rule by a minority.

Good grief! Where did Signe Wilson come up with this outrageous deduction?
Hey Signe! Were you tripping on LSD to draw this cartoon?
You are worse than Bennett! And he is so blind to the truth, he wouldn’t see the SUN if he were on the sun side of Mercury!

Hey, I’m not a great supporter of the ACA. Would you be willing to examine the various systems of health insurance used by other industrialized nations and then go with the one that seemed to cover everyone with good outcomes at a reasonable price?

I was in Somalia in 93. Never before had been in a nation in which the veneer of civilization had been so totally stripped bare. The analogy in this cartoon is on point.
