It would be easier to expell the troublemakers, gangbangers ect. To many schools are just warehouses for children who do not want to be there.

If you were following the saga of the Dekalb county school board, you see that even rich, suburban school systems can be mismanaged into crisis.

Trying to help out those ignorant children would be throwing away good money. We can’t afford it, either.

question is like michyle said it is a warehouse not a school .the schools have no control of the kid because every kid had to stay in school. when they should be tossed out or sent to a detention school and let the kids in that school learn

oh one more point the house I live in now is valued twice than the house in poor place but I would be paying twice the same amt of tax. So quit picking on the rich find out why in a place that has twice as many houses and collects the same amt of taxes has worse schools

Republicans hate liberal education, just look at Texas.

It is too bad children are not taught to respect themselves, and others property, in the “inner cities”. They would realize that you can get an education any where there are resources and teachers. Also, if you vandalize and destroy ,the school you are permitted to attend that is what you have to live with.
It takes two parents to raise children the right way and give them all they need, and deserve, financially, emotionally, and physically. To often in “inner cities” multiple children are being raised by a single parent who does not have enough of anything to do a good job.

It is a shame people comment without knowing the facts. There was over a 10 year “experiment” to answer the accusation made in the toon.

Tens of million were poured into inner city schools in Kansas City. Read the results. The
Supreme Court of NJ mandated more money be spent on inner city schools than were spent in suburban districts. Same result as KC.
There have been at least half a dozen such tests all with the same results. Simply spending money is not the answer.

So why is American education the most expensive in the world but is producing such poor results?
And is it related to why American Health Care is in the same situation?
And the American government, military, post office, environmental protection…..

For the exact same reason spending $1B will not ever be able to teach me to slam dunk a basketball.

^ I don’t follow. Are you saying American students are dumb and can’t learn in the same way that you are short and dumpy and can’t learn to dunk?
