Unfortunately, this pretty much describes the state of education these days.

All of them. They have an agenda to teach. Unfortunately none of it has to do with reading, writing or arithmetic.

My mother is a school board member here in central Pennsylvania. She admits freely that teachers now “teach to the test” after No Child Left Behind was passed.
Some state GOP platforms now actually call for the elimination of the teaching of critical thinking from school curricula!

All the goddamned leeches, the over-paid, non-value-added “administrators” trying to justify their bloated paychecks; the endless wave of CONsultants.

I wonder if the number of administrators has exceeded the number of teachers in some school districts. Chicago, in particular, comes to mind.

Junior is never going to learn if he doesn’t have to.
(“It hard” whine, whine).
Teacher is afraid of the principal, principal is afraid of the superintendent, superintendent is afraid of school board, school board is afraid of parents, parents are afraid of kids and kid s aren’t afraid of anyone.

Liberal Progressives have been leading the educational system for decades. Another example of colossal failure of leftist policies.
Foreign policy……a deadly disaster.
The economy…….Carter revisited.
Political culture…..a country divided
The war on terror…our enemy was helped by our Pres. In gaining control of the Middle East. Treasonous? Perhaps.
The Constitution…. Religious freedom no longer exists, equal protection under the law doesn’t exist, free speech is under assault, checks and balances eliminated, etc.
Progressivism is a profound failure.

Strange, we keep hearing the liberals and democrats calling for the elimination of critical thinking or any kind of thinking whatsoever. And I saw that happening when I was still in school in the 80’s and 90’s.

Put there by liberals.

And Detroit, California, and New York.

Understand the idea behind “no child left behind” was to curb dropout problem. But, by NOT requiring standards consistant with true expectations, support of parents for teachers, disapline of students, and Liberal agenda, has degraded the school system and the dumbing of America.

A good example of gradatio. Well done. But should the kids be afraid? The best learning comes from delight, not fear.

@narrowminded
It’s not the liberal progressives who want to force creationism into the curriculum.

Texas was the first state to call for the elimination of critical thinking. How many liberals and Democrats are running Texas?

“The unspoken line in this toon is that the teacher doesn’t want to teach either.”
What absolute bunk!
