The GOP shot themselves in the foot here in Pennsylvania. The Amish, who largely live in the Lancaster County area (but also can be found in Berks, Chester and Lebanon counties) vote GOP en bloc, consider photo ID as a violation of the Ten Commandments where graven images are forbidden.

More people got their fingers dyed in Iraq, when they could die for it, than here. THAT is the sad part of that “live free or die” that is lost on those who don’t vote.

And a typical rightwing response. Minimize the number of voters since they know they’re in the minority.

Maybe if right-wingers could provide evidence of this widespread voter fraud that ID laws are supposed to prevent. Oh, that’s right, you can’t. Just a lot of conspiracy theory muttering about ACORN.

Everyone is suspect in America now. THe people at my polling place know everyone. THis stupid law results in them having to say, “Hi, SIgne! How is your dog Ginger. Please show me an ID.” Idiotic waste of time and good will.

Reports in PA say it is not a problem, even if an infringement of voting rights, but turnout is really light . . . .

the real problem is electronic voting machines, hooked up to the internet with NO audit trail.

the reps/cons oppose any kind of audit trail on the electronic voting machines.

the president of diebold, who makes a large number of these machiens said he would do whatever it takes to ensure a republican win.

This is the legacy of GWB who started chiseling away at the Bill of Rights & the U.S. Constitution (which to him was “just a god-damned piece of paper”). Unfortunately, the election of BHO has not corrected that course and “the Hope” has failed to restore citizens’ rights. Mexico, anyone?

Mexico is worse, Canada is a good place.
They would ask for my ID at the Grange Hall where I voted and I thought nothing of it. Now they just mail the ballot, I suppose anyone could fill it out.

Then why is that people who have validated I.D. before aren’t now because of the new unnecessary law? Because the reason is to hit the ones most likely to vote Democrat that is why.

Voter fraud is a nonexistent problem they created to make these pernicious laws. You can thank ALEC also for pushing such laws. They lost 13 members when it was made known.

If the person is poor they can’t afford the kind of ID demanded by the Republican an Conservative ALEC sponsored voter suppression law.

There is voter fraud, intimidation as well as suppression. Congressperson Gwen Moore’s son was involved in an incident in Milwaukee.

Lawmaker’s son, 4 others charged in tire slashing

It just doesn’t get the press it deserves.
