There’s never a guillotine handy when you need one…

In Philadelphia, Signe’s own hometown, the haunted Eastern State Penitentiary fills in for the Bastille every July 14. A lady dressed as Marie Antoinette speaks to the crowd from the buttresses, and standing near her are a bunch of other re-enactors.

“Marie” says to the crowd, "If the people have no bread, I say, ‘Let…them…eat…Tastykake!’ " as she and her fellow re-enactors toss 2000 packs of that Philly delicacy down on the crowd below!

For Flyers hockey fans, that comes out to between 9 and 10 cases of Tastykakes. One case is given to each player for each goal they score. It’s given to their favorite charities.

Cool. Regrettably, there is no account that actually links Marie to that infamous quote. Matter of fact, while the quote itself was apparently in circulation for sometime before Louis’s reign, she was actually very concerned for the welfare of the poor of Paris.

Only in the 21st Century, it’s “You’re lazy!” uttered by Herman Cain.

Just because you were able to find a good job doesn’t mean everyone else has the same luck.

Yet another totally clueless cartoon by Signe. I expected her to be on sabbatical while she was ‘occupying’ with the other idiots.

Harleyquinn’s Occupy Oakland link is priceless! And, guess who has to clean up after these idiots?

I am more and more convinced that the Occupy people are socialists through and through. And they have been brainwashed enough to really believe socialism will work this time … even after dismal failures everywhere else it has been tried.

I want the socialists to stand up and give me just ONE socialistic country where RAMPANT povery is not the prevailing condition. You CAN’T!!

Exactly, you worked three part time jobs. How many jobs do you seriously think the ivy league guy who makes a hundred times your salary had to take to get there.

    Honestly?

I doubt he had three part time jobs at any time in his life.

Clown: have to ask. As one of your “jobs” is dumpster diving for food to take to others as a “volunteer”- exactly WHO are the filthy hippies in need you take that food to? Shouldn’t they all be out working three jobs to get by? What did THEY do to deserve “charity” or a break? I admire volunteerism, but see a little disconnect between calling the unemployed, dumped on by “business” and 30 years of Reaganomics policies “filthy hippies”, “lazy”, and then collecting food for those YOU deem “worthy”? Why?

It’s interesting that she used this idea, since Marie Antoinette never said that.

    .

In fact, ‘Let them eat cake’ was probably the very first widespread use of the liberal media to project lies to whip up left wing fervor…

Take a look at the ‘Established Date’ of Small Businesses in your area. I have found that a lot of businesses started in the 1930’s. There were No Private Sector Jobs for Lots of men, back then. So, they started a business in the worst of times. Lots of businesses folded when the boss-man found a salaried job based on his expanded skills. Lots of businesses just went under. Our 14 Million that want a good job should follow the example set for us.
