Godzilla is probably not your best barbecue guest. But his visit should flatten whatever of the neighborhood the Fifty-Foot Woman didn’t, and flame-broil the neighbors, to boot!

Always have a back-up plan in case the fire goes out.

Is there anyone left in that area?

One wonders how the real estate people sell anything there.

Agent: “And in this neighborhood, we have a number of fixer-uppers.”

    Buyer: “What happened? A tornado?”

Agent: “The locals have some peculiar customs, but most of them are OK”

Buyer: “why isn’t anyone else around here?”

Agent: “Oh, they mostly stay indoors around here. They are not sun lovers.”

Buyer: “how much you asking for this”

    Agent: “$10,000”

Buyer: “why so cheap? What’s wrong with the house?”

Agent: “Nothing’s wrong with this house.”

Buyer: “What aren’t you telling me?”

Ours were better. The “stop-action animation” creatures were always more interesting than “the guy in the rubber suit” monsters (which ALWAYS looked like a guy in a rubber suit).

The Japanese monster movies are a unique genre; something the Japanese film makers do better than anyone. I can’t say I haven’t enjoyed watching them (tho’ I must admit that I’ve liked them best when viewing them on Mystery Science Theater 3000, for my tendency was always to poke fun at them).
I think there is room in the world of cinema for all efforts, and if you can define a genre you’ve accomplished a lot (same with art and writing and music, etc.).
