   Remember this, a martini is gin/vodka with vermouth. Anything else is a cocktail that’s served in a martini glass.

    @rollsroyce Because those are the ingredients for a martini. Once you add juice, it’s a cocktail.
    Technically a martini is made with gin (see history of martini) so the one with vodka is referred to as a vodka martini.
