Savage Chickens began on a rainy day in October 2004 when, after one too many migraines, Doug Savage scribbled two chickens on a sticky note. Almost eight years and 2000 cartoons later, Savage Chickens is now a popular website with millions of readers. Savage still draws every cartoon on yellow sticky notes, and his cartoons cover an eclectic range of topics, including: work, psychology, arachnophobia, pop culture, cats, time travel, love, zombies, and more.

What did you expect from a boozy beggar even if he could think you under the table.

Quite funny, though I don’t think most gocomics readers will understand it.

Ha! Yes, I live in Vancouver, BC. Usually I use American spelling in the comics, but I guess this one snuck in! Appropriate, since yesterday was Canada Day :)

@Doug Savage
Why use American spelling? The more intelligent of them can work it out, and the ones that can’t probably can’t cope with words of more than one syllable anyway.

It’s actually just a habit that I got into during my day job when I was a technical writer. Most documentation teams use American spelling by default, so I just kept doing the same when I started cartooning. Hmm maybe I should switch to Canadian English!
