    Do we know for sure that the fish survive their wounds?

    @pschearer

    I’ve caught many fish with hooks still in them.
    I go barbless; catch and release.
    I buy fish to eat at the market.

    Catch and release is cruel. I read that about 50% of the fish do not survive due to injury and shock. Either eat the fish you catch, or don’t fish at all.

    If you don’t know how to do it then don’t do it.

    I bet animals wouldn’t understand gum chewing either. “What do you mean you don’t swallow?!”

    Cats do it all the time. They catch something, they let it go, then they catch it again. over and over again.
