    I love Pasquale because he is such a great kid. With two loving parents who showed him the proper way to behave.

    What do you expect? It’s a comic strip, reality need not apply.

    MayKitten – You must live in some ritzy neighborhood, where the bus-riding kiddies have that kind of $$ for a cup of cocoa on the way to school.

    Fairy tales can come true, it could happen to you, if you are young at heart. Your life is what you make it.

    Back in my youth, a cup of hot cocoa would have cost maybe a dime. Same for the cookie. Don’t you just love inflation?

    Yes, and in 1964 my brand new three bedroom house on a third of an acre cost $19,000.

    @WCLamb

    Considering what people spend on fancy coffee these days without thinking twice, a cup of cocoa for under $3 sounds terrific to me.

    For a penny, I could get a piece of maple-sugar candy with a tiny prize like a working magnet and bar. A quarter would get me a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry on top.

    I like this strip because it’s not preachy like Family circus!
