Meemaw is the best most powerful character in the strip. Sorry, Vickie.

I got to be a “guest reader” at my daughter’s preschool years ago and got a similar “thanks”. I’ll never forget it; it was so much fun.

Too bad that in this day and age MeeMaw runs a high risk of being sued/or arrested because she touched a student and the teacher could get fired for allowing it.

We need more hugs in school.

I think Vickie would agree, have you seen Meemaw’s alter ego?

Ah, but she hadn’t “touched a student.” The students hugged her, not the other way around.

Hugs are very good and powerful things. Meemaw is such a big character in her personality. A great influence on Rose.

The last thought bubble is touching Paquale’s head, so I don’t see what you’re seeing.

I did a volunteer internship with CPS for a Social Work Practice class assignment and I was “educated” on the idea that one should NEVER allow someone else’s child to sit on their lap, as it will turn them into a sex-crazed delinquent. I have allowed kids to sit on my lap all my life (I’m approaching 70) and have never suffered negative consequences. I have to wonder where this is going. The CPS is notoriously over-protective of children, even for innocuous affection.
