Is this kind of thing how the legend of “The Great Pumpkin” started? A mysteriously missing Jack-O-Lantern needing to be ‘explained’?

    It’s porcupines that strip trees.
But the fluffy tailed little tree rats do love pumpkin seeds.
Had one gnaw into a nice fat pumpkin in my garden to get to the seeds and meat.
When I went out to gather in the pumpkins I picked up the one he’d got into and he was Still in there!
I’m not sure which of us was more startled….
